A coach! Why would I need a coach? I'm a well trained therapist... and nurse practitioner who should know this stuff. I've worked through past issues of depression and trauma with a brilliant psychiatrist. My practice was doing well and then I crashed with a virus. Brushing my teeth was overwhelming.
I continued working, but relapses were common and I finally had to stop. It's been 3 years since I left my beloved clients.
As a thrilled new grandmother with a healthy husband, kids and father, I kept thinking I was adjusting to a chronic illness. But I was disappointed in myself for not being the kind of grandmother, wife and daughter I wanted to be.
A family friend who is one of his Coaching clients kept mentioning Rock to me over the past 3 years. One day when I was especially frustrated, sick and getting more and more depressed, I finally dialed his number. I expected to reach a voice mail, but Rock answered. Physician Heal Thyself!
I recently went through what I thought would never apply to me - The proverbial 'Mid Life Crisis'.
As a certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, NLP Practitioner and EFT Practitioner,
I have helped guide many others through their difficult times and transitions.
This should be easy for me right? Well it turned out that it wasn't!
Not only did it happen, the turbulence of it all it left me financially, psychologically, emotionally and spiritually devastated. That last one, my spiritual foundation being badly fractured was probably the most injurious.
I found myself without cause, purpose or reason for being. I also discovered how much of my self esteem had been based on my (previously excellent) level of income. Despite my profession, my world was badly shaken, and worse, I didn't care. I was on the road to self destruction and I needed help, but didn't know where to turn.
Enter Rocklin Duffy, with his calm, steady voice of reason and understanding, taking on my tsunami of anger, frustration, confusion, conflict and doubt. "Let's get back to the fundamentals Mark ... everything starts with thought Mark".
My initial thoughts were, this is stuff I've heard, stuff I already know. But from Rock there is a subtle yet critical and powerful difference. His calm, confident manner and ability to actually get through to me, from a point of deep understanding and real world experience calmed the storm.
I found myself hearing these things again... for the first time!
Rock's positive influence is REAL. At least it was for me. His honest, steady, persistent, clear and (mostly) positive feedback has helped me to rediscover the essentials. Back to the basics, the fundamentals, that which is really important to our overall success.
In a nutshell, Rock has helped make this, an intense, potentially devastating transition, doable and rewarding. Among other things, Rock is big on clarity and focus and goals. These are returning to my life, maybe better than ever.
Nobody can force you to change your negative, self damaging, thinking, behavior and habit patterns. Sometimes they don't yield easily, but Rock holds me accountable and I am better for it.
As much as we might resist admitting it, there are times when we really need someone to help us. It's times like these that we should reach out and hope to find someone who cares and has the life experience, insight and resources to share with us that which can make the difference we are seeking.

Working with Rocklin Duffy as our coach has been a thoroughly enjoyable and rewarding experience! We came to him as a relatively new couple with a desire to be happy in our new relationship. Each of us also came with some fears, trepidation and our share of “life baggage.”

The Management staff at Paramount Windows Corp. first became acquainted with Rock Duffy in 2006. Paramount was experiencing explosive growth at the time and needed real world staffing solutions.
